Mailboxes have been added in.
to set a mailbox all you have to do is place a chest ontop of a fencepost.
then look at the chest and type /setmailbox

then to send an item to a player (or a book containing ur message) hold it in your hand
and type /sendmail <playername>
it will be sent to them if they have a mailbox.
